FEROCIOUS VERSES OPTICAL IN EPIC BATTLE FOR 2YO SUPREMACY!

TWO-YEAR-OLD COLT OPTICAL THAT CAUGHT MY EYES WHEN WINNING A MAIDEN RACE BY 14 LENGTHS JUST TWO WEEKS AGO RETURNS TO FACE FEROCIOUS!

See my blog post on this thread down about 2 postings about Optical profile.

I didn't expect Optical to show up in a race this quick considering his last two races were spread two weeks apart.

His previous race was at Kentucky Downs on September 5, 2024, and his next race after that race was at Churchill Downs on September 18, 2024 -- that's two weeks apart between three races, including this weekend's race on October 5.

Anyhow, it will be interesting to see how he handles Ferocious.

I think he'll do just fine.

The worries that I have is the two-week gaps between these three races.

Too quick, I think!

BETTING STRATEGY:

Bet Ferocious to win and put a lot of money on him to make it worthwhile and justified going to the racetrack.

Ferocious will win the Claiborne Breeders' Futurity Stakes at Keeneland this weekend.

As for Optical, I'll just watch how he does and keep him on my watch list for the future.

Depending on how Optical does in this race, aside from winning this race, it seems logical at this point that his next race will be the Street Sense Stakes (G3) at 1 1/16 miles at Churchill Downs on October 24, 2024.

That's his logical next race instead of this race

Despite the presence of Optical I'm going to say this:

This is the easiest 4/5 money you'll ever going to get on the card at Keeneland or at any other racetracks on this Saturday October 5, 2024 [beside Senza Parole, Belmont at BigA, race 7].

BONUS:

PARLAY SPECIAL:

1ST LEG (Belmont at Big A, race 7): Senza Parole to win.
2nd LEG (Belmont at Big A, race 8): Chancer McPatrick to win.
3rd LEG (Keeneland, race 9): Ferocious to win.

There you have it: Easy money this Saturday.

POST RACE UPDATE: October 6, 2024

OPTICAL off evenly in third on the rail and continued to stay on the rail going into the first turn when a horse in front (HANDSOMEPANTS) backed off slightly causing Optical to go outside of that rival and bumped an inner rival (HANDSOMEPANTS) while subtly put to cramped quarters by an outer rival (READY FOR PEACE) when both horses seemed to jostle for position.

After that incident Optical continued to race off the pace along the inside about two to three lengths off, and from thereafter to halfway of the backstretch leaving the five-furlong marker when a rival crept up to his outside and brushed him and forced him to steady again almost hitting the rail causing the jockey to abruptly pulled his horse (Optiocal) very hard to the back of the field.

From that incident the jockey decided to pull his mount up approaching the far turn and the horse walked off on his own power accompanied by an outrider while the jockey riding an ambulance back to the dis-mount area.

Both the horse and the jockey were okay.
