Senza Parole, the 3-5 morning line favorite for this weekend's Frizette from the Chad Brown barn, will scratch and is out for the year with a physical issue.

This means that Senza Parole will miss the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies race on Nov. 1 at Del Mar.

It's a bummer considering that she's the horse that I have been looking forward to in the Breeders' Cup for quite some time.

Meanwhile, this weekend we still have Ferocious to bet on and maybe we can gauge what kind of a horse Optical is when facing a horse like Ferocious.

In his last race just two weeks ago on September 18 racing on dirt, Optical beat restricted maidens in a one-turn Churchill mile by 14 lengths.

On the lead, he ran his last furlong in 11.83, getting his final quarter -- eased up late -- in 23.95, eye-catching splits for a 2-year-old with speed.

"It was his fourth race in 60 days, but he seems mentally good and physically in great shape," trainer Keith Desormeaux said.

The Claiborne Breeders' Futurity Stakes at Keeneland this weekend is a real test to see how good Optical is facing a very good group of 2yos, particularly Ferocious.
